在全球经济发展放缓和欧债危机的背景下，中国的城镇化正处于由快转稳的阶段，注重规划、城乡协调、均衡发展的欧洲城镇化经验值得我们认真研究和借鉴，同时，正处于转型期的中国城镇化也为世界和欧洲提供了新的发展动力和空间。在新的一轮中欧战略合作进程中，相关学者在城镇化研究领域的交流与合作具有很强的理论意义和较高的前瞻价值。从理论层面，中德城市与区域空间结构演变机制、模式与评估是双方具有共同价值的理论基础，我国新的发展时期为这个基础研究提供了平台和案例，德国的发展历程也为我国提供了思路和借鉴。从技术层面看，德国在GIS应用于城市规划、管理和评估方面有非常成熟的经验，对正处于发展阶段的中国学者来说具有很好的借鉴价值和意义，正处于转型期的中国城市也为德国的技术应用提供了空间和机会。本研讨会在中德科学中心的资助下，希望通过中德国际学术研讨，对欧洲空间规划的控制和开发机制、城市可持续发展的必要性及认证体系等问题进行交流。

本次会议由国家自然科学基金委中德科学中心。会议将邀请20多名来自国内外本领域著名学者，就中欧城市和区域规划理论研究上的认识及经验进行交流包括德国魏玛包豪斯大学Bernd Nentwig教授及团队、英国UCL大学Fulong Wu教授、曼彻斯特大学Cecilia Wong教授、南京大学张京祥教授、中山大学李郇教授、中科院南京地理与湖泊研究所陈雯研究员、中科院地理科学与资源研究所朱晓华研究员、华中科技大学黄亚平教授等一流专家学者。我们热烈欢迎各院校、相关研究机构和个人来校参与本次学术研讨。

In the context of European debt crisis and the slowdown of global economic growth, the urbanization in China is undergoing the transition from rapid growth to steady development. It is the European urbanization experience which attaches significance to planning as well as coordinated urban and rural development that merits further researching and learning. Furthermore, being in the transition period, China’s urbanization provides more development impetuses and opportunities for Europe and the world. In the new round of Sino-EU strategic cooperation process, the exchanges and cooperation of scholars in urbanization research are significantly valuable in theory and in perspective. The mechanism and assessment of the evolution of urban and district spatial structure between China and Germany prove to be the theoretical basis of common values for both sides. The new period of development in China provides platforms as well as cases for the basic research. Moreover, the course of development in Germany is also well worth learning for China. Germany is technically experienced in utilizing GIS to urban planning, management and evaluation, which is quite valuable for developing Chinese scholars. Simultaneously, the transition of Chinese cities also offers great space and opportunities for the application of German technology. Under the auspices of the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion, the International Seminar is conducted in order to promote the communication on some issues, such as Europe’s control and development mechanism of spatial planning, the necessity of sustainable urban development and certification system, etc.

"The International Symposium on Mechanism and Assessment of the Evolution of Urban and District Spatial Structure between China and Europe" is funded by the National Natural Science Fund Chinese-German scientific centers and will be held on August 5, 2013 at the Library of Hunan University. The symposium will invite more than 20 famous scholars in this field from home and abroad to exchange their knowledge and experience of the Central European Urban and Regional planning theory, which including Professor Bernd Nentwig of Bauhaus-Universitat Weimar and his team, Professor Fulong Wu of UCL University in Britain, Professor Cecilia Wong of the University of Manchester, Professor Zhang Jingxiang of Nanjing University, Professor Li Huan of Sun Yat-sen University, Researcher Chen Wen of Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Zhu Xiaohua of Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Huang Yaping of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and other leading experts and scholars. We warmly welcome the Universities, Research Institutions and individuals to the academic symposium.
